CASE STUDY
Reece Group

We worked with the Reece Group to create a hard-working and versatile uniform collection for their extensive workforce all over Australia and New Zealand.

Reece Group, Australia’s largest plumbing & bathroom supplier, was founded in 1920. With over 100 years of experience, they prioritize customer and employee satisfaction. Their 8000+ staff are split into Corporate, Retail, and Trade categories, each with specific uniform requirements.

Seeking a reliable and proactive uniform supplier for their 1900+ locations, Reece partnered with us in 2012, impressed by our customer-first approach and advanced digital capabilities.

THE SOLUTION

During the transition from their old uniform supplier, Reece was in a bit of a bind and asked to complete the initial uniform rollout in only 3 months – instead of a standard 5 month timeframe. We had to act fast!

To reduce turnaround time and produce the required quantities for the roll-out we worked with our trusted manufacturing partners to commence production in both Australia and offshore simultaneously. The faster turnaround from local production was balanced with the cost savings from offshore production.

While production was running we set up a dedicated online portal, took care of the onboarding process and integrated it with Reece’s own systems.

Reece’s uniform collection was built around practicality, durability, and comfort. Many staff members are on their feet all day and require a wardrobe that is quick to put together, looks and feels good, and is easy to maintain. The range includes stylish shirts and blouses for the showroom, business suits for the corporate sector, and sturdy workwear, Hi Vis, and taping for trade. In the dynamic Trades department, where safety and compliance are paramount, we went above and beyond by strictly adhering to hi-vis and taping clothing regulations in Australia. The overall uniform program, designed to meet the diverse needs of Corporate, Retail, and Trade categories, has not only enhanced the professional appearance of Reece’s workforce but has also significantly contributed to their efficiency and reliability.

THE OUTCOME

Reece’s new uniforms have far exceeded their expectations. Not only did we achieve a super tight rollout deadline, but the quality, fit and styles were better than expected. Also, and most importantly, we achieved significant efficiencies and cost savings through automating processes and digital integrations.

The new uniform program was so much easier to manage that Reece redirected uniform coordinators into other areas of the business, resulting in even greater savings.

We also helped Reece to reduce their stock holding of old uniforms, left behind by an old uniform supplier, by distributing it over a 6 month period.

Over the years we’ve been keeping Reece’s uniform looking on trend with modern pieces and fabric innovation, such as thermo-regulating technology and recycled yarns.

We are proud of the positive contribution that Designs to You have had in partnership with Reece. Not only is the Reece team looking fantastic, but with improved efficiency and reliability, we’ve been able to service above and beyond expectations.
